Another step in choosing an effective sunscreen is to ask yourself whether you’ll be sweating a lot or getting wet and need a sunscreen that’s water resistant. As time goes on, moisture can clear your skin of sunscreen, so if you think you’ll be wet, you may want to pick up a water resistant sunscreen.

You can also utilize long sleeve shirts to protect your arms and pants to protect your legs. Just make sure to use sunscreen even if you are covering up, because the sun’s rays can still penetrate through clothing.

The sooner you treat your sunburn, the sooner it will begin the healing process. The best treatment for sunburns is to remove yourself from direct sunlight as soon as possible. Once you get away from the sun, you will need to assess the situation. If you have blisters or peeling skin, it may be possible that you need to visit a doctor because that would indicate a severe burn.

If you think the sunburn is treatable at home, you need to apply a moisturizing cream or aloe cream directly to the area. This will stop the skin from drying out and soothe some of the pain. Leave small blisters alone if they form and try to avoid popping them.
